43rd District Court - FERNDALE

Until recently, Judge Goedert ruled the Hazel Park District Court like a dictator. He was infamous for his terrible temperament and unconstitutional behavior. Criminal defense attorneys were afraid of him, and for good reason because he would impose huge fines on them for simply doing their job. Our main trial lawyer Jim Amberg had an unreal series of encounters with this judge, and unlike all of those afraid lawyers, Jim challenged Judge Goedert, ultimately appealing him and getting him thrown off the case. Then Jim filed a grievance against Judge Goedert with the Judicial Tenure Commission and, as the gutless coward he is, Judge Goedert resigned rather than face all of his victims at his judicial tenure hearing. 43rd District Court – MADISON HEIGHTS
The Madison Heights District Court, presided over by Judge Keith Hunt, handles all Madison Heights drunk driving charges and other misdemeanor cases which take place in Madison Heights. Judge Hunt is a fair person and will allow us to adequately work a felony case through the preliminary examination. Judge Hunt is also not afraid to make a tough decision, which is always good for the defense.
