Michigan 47th District Court
What is the 47th District Court?
The 47th District Court services the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills. The Farmington Michigan court is a good place to be for a felony case to begin. The reason for this is that both Judge Marla Parker and Judge James Brady are fair and are willing to allow the time and effort needed to heavily litigate a felony case in the district court. We respect judges that take their responsibility seriously when it pertains to deciding whether to bind a felony case over to the Oakland County Circuit Court. We have handled very serious felony cases in the Farmington Court.
The 47th District Court Judges
Both Judge Parker and Judge Brady have sat on the Farmington bench for a significant amount of time. This experience has benefited felony criminal defendants when their lawyers fight the preliminary examination stage of the felony case. Simply waiving an exam in Farmington is a bad idea and if that is what your lawyer is telling you to do, there better be a darn good reason for doing it. Both Judge Parker and Judge Brady are receptive to case law and cutting edge arguments, and will dismiss a felony case at exam if legally appropriate.
